Tips for Choosing Hinges for Electrical Cabinets in Daily Use

In industrial settings, electrical cabinets, control cabinets, and distribution boxes are opened frequently for maintenance and routine operations. Picking the right hinges can make opening and closing doors smoother and help keep the cabinets stable over time.

Different cabinets and usage scenarios call for different types of hinges. For lighter indoor cabinets, aluminum hinges are a simple, cost-effective option. Standard indoor cabinets often use zinc alloy hinges, which are both durable and affordable.  For outdoor cabinets, high-humidity areas, or heavier doors, stainless steel hinges are a better fit because they resist corrosion and handle more weight.

Hinge type and size should match the weight and height of the cabinet door.
